Fundraising

As a Community Interest Company (CIC) we prioritise making our support financially accessible. Our fundraising enables us to do this.

The funds are used for the day to day running of both the Alternative Provision and our adult Wellbeing Through Connection pathway.  We also raise money towards site developments.

At the moment we are fundraising to buy a permanent site for Transitions.

There are a number of ways we raise funds:

Please find below the various ways you can get involved.  If you would like to make a donation to our fundraising then please follow this link.   Thank you for your support.   â€‹

Previous Grant Applications

Think Big and Think Bigger enabled us to pilot our first sessions with young people in 2014.

School for Social Entrepreneurs - enabled us to set up Transitions as a Community Interest Company that enables us to prioritise making out support financially accessible.

Learning Disability Development Fund - enabled us to run group sessions for adults with learning difficulties.

York Carers Centre - with this we ran therapeutic respite days for carers.

Ed de Nunzio charitable trust funding.  This enabled us to continue to run sessions for young people  2015

The Deanne Gee Memorial Fund

Joseph Rowntree Foundation York Committee enabled us to start the Wellbeing Through Connection programme in 2021.

Awards for All funding helped us to do site improvements and provided more funding for our Wellbeing Through Connection  programme - 2021.

Belfrey 2023

Community mental health transformation grant  2023

In 2023 we benefited from a grant from St Michael le Belfrey church in York that enabled us to invest in a Shepherd's Hut and a new horse Robyn.  Click here to find out more in a BBC Look North interview.

Events

We recently held an event where we invited Cooper Wilson, the Yorkshire horseman, to Tockwith to give us an insight into his work of what he does to make life better for every horse he encounters. â€‹

All proceeds of this event are in aid of our latest aim to raise funds to buy a permanent site for Transitions York CIC.

Thank you for your support.

Our next big idea is to organise a ball at during 2025.  Details will be posted as soon as we plan the logistics.

Corporate fundraising, sponsored challenges and individual donations

There have been lots of wonderful donations made as people have followed their hobbies.  This has ranged from corporate fundraising to craft creations sold on a small scale.  Perhaps your organisation is looking for a local cause to support, in which case we would welcome us being named in an event like The Great North Run.  Our last sponsorship raised £200 at the Great North Swim, where Hannah our Director swam 2 miles in Lake Windemere.  Alternatively, if that is not your thing and you'd like to sell some cakes on a stall in a local fair then we'd welcome your contribution, as our recent young person raised £70 from her cake sale.
